Abstract
While planning the implant surgery, care should be taken to have healthy bone tissue of 1,5-2 mm around the implant. In order to apply an implant with 1,5-2 mm healthy bone around the implant, the alveolar bone with a width of less than 5 mm must be expanded. In this case report, it was explained that horizontal bone deficiency in the maxillary alveolar crest was made suitable for implant treatment with the two-stage alveolar crest split technique. The horizontal bone width of 3,5-4 mm, measured at the maxillary alveolar crest, was expanded with the help of osteotomes, and the split bone cavity was filled with a combination of autogenous + bovine origin graft and membrane application. Nine months after the first surgery, a healthy expanding crest implant was performed.
