11th INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON HEALTHY LIFE, İstanbul, Turkey, 13 November 2025, (Full Text)
Abstract:
It provides a comprehensive overview of the increasingly important ϐield of wellness tourism and the lifestyle approaches incorporated within it. Representing a dynamic and holistic sector, wellness tourism aims to enhance physical, mental and emotional well-being through personalised services. This encompasses a variety of activities, such as the use of thermal resources, traditional and complementary medical practices, spa-wellness centres, ϐitness and detox camps, and yoga and meditation retreats. The stress, environmental degradation and health issues brought about by modern life have led individuals to seek out alternative tourism activities that are more natural, sustainable and focused on personal awareness. In this context, naturebased approaches such as ecotourism strengthen environmental awareness while supporting local development. Additionally, within the scope of lifestyle medicine, elements such as taking responsibility for one's own health, engaging in regular physical activity, maintaining a balanced diet, and building mental resilience are emphasised. Research has demonstrated the positive effects of exercise, healthy eating, and mind-body practices on psychological symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and stress. Healthy living practices offer contributions that are multidimensional, affecting not only individuals, but also social welfare, economic development and environmental sustainability.
