Abstract

Abstract

Health tourism, defined as traveling to different countries for medical treatment, has seen significant

growth in recent years. Türkiye and India are two of the leading destinations in this field. Both

countries have established unique structures that combine high-quality healthcare services with

affordable prices. This attracts millions of international patients seeking a wide range of services, from

cosmetic surgery to advanced oncological treatments. The quality of healthcare services offered by the

target countries is one of the key factors contributing to the growth of health tourism. Both India and

Türkiye have advanced healthcare systems equipped with modern medical technology and staffed by

qualified professionals. Many hospitals in these countries have received accreditation from

organizations such as the Joint Commission International (JCI). These accreditations ensure that

hospitals provide services that meet international standards in terms of quality, safety, and patient care,

thereby providing reliability for medical tourists. For international patients seeking safe, high-quality

healthcare, these certifications play a decisive role in selecting facilities.

The healthcare tourism services offered by Türkiye and India were evaluated using the SWOT analysis

method developed by Albert S. Humphrey. This method enables a comprehensive examination of the

current situation by systematically identifying the relevant countries' strengths, weaknesses,

opportunities, and threats in the field of healthcare tourism. In conclusion: This study compared the

health tourism sectors of Türkiye and India using SWOT analysis to identify the competitive

advantages and areas for development of both countries. Quality standards, coordination, and

adherence to ethical principles are key to sustainable success. Quality standards, coordination, and
