ABSTRACT
Translation and Adaptation of Maternal Burnout Scale Preliminary Form into Turkish,
Reliability and Validity Study (T-MBS)
Purpose: The aim of the study is to adapt the Maternal Burnout Preliminary Form to Turkish
and to examine its validity and reliability.
Method: The study is methodological research. 350 mothers between the ages of 18-45 and
having at least one child between the ages of 0-25 were included in the study. Confirmatory
factor analysis to determine the construct validity of the preliminary form;, Cronbach's alpha
internal consistency coefficient, item-total correlation and correlation analyzes between
dimensions to determine its reliability were performed.

Results: As a result of the factor analysis, the three-factor structure that overlapped with the
original preliminary form consisting of 15 items was confirmed (χ2/sd:3,180, GFI: 0.907,
AGFI: 0.868, IFI: 0.922 TLI: 0.901, CFI:0.951, RMSEA: 0.079, and SRMR: 0.051). For the
general scale structure, the Cronbach Alpha reliability value was found to be 0.905 and quite
high, and the reliability value of the sub-dimensions was found to be between 0.777-0.796 and
sufficient.
Conclusion: It has been determined that the Turkish Maternal Burnout Scale Preliminary Form
is a valid and reliable scale that can be used in clinical practice and research.
