In this study, the evaluation of the application tools used in the Mobile Programming course according to student opinions is examined. Mobile programming course is taught in computer technology departments. Students learn to program mobile devices by using application tools. In the course, code-based Android Studio and visual interface-based AppInventor tools are used. The sample consists of 38 students from the Mobile Programming course of the Department of Computer Technologies. A quantitative qualitative approach was used in the study. The students were given equivalent application assignments and asked to develop them in the specified application tool. Attitude scale was used as a data collection tool and open-ended questions were used to determine the opinions about the application development process. A 26-question attitude scale was created with information on gender, high school graduated from, and whether they had used these tools before. Open-ended questions were asked to get information about the development process and the answers were analyzed by content analysis. It was observed that the participants had more positive attitudes towards developing applications in AppInventor. When the open-ended questions were examined, it was understood that they learned the programming processes they did not know with AppInventor software by using trial and error method and that AppInventor was less costly in terms of application implementation time.
