Özet

One of the hematological cancers and above about 10% of malignancies, the type Multiple Myeloma is a disease of progressive neoplastic plasma cells related to abnormal monoclonal protein synthesis, Immunglobulin and light free chain. The incidence of multiple myeloma is 6.5 per hundred thousand, and it constitutes 2.1% of all cancer cases. With the use of autologous stem cell transplantation and new treatment agents, survival  rates have increased in multiple myeloma. Especially anxiety, fatigue and sexual dysfunction affect the quality of treatment, compliance with treatment and quality of life negatively in patients with multiple myeloma. Patients with multiple myeloma perceive their symptoms of fatigue, anxiety and sexual dysfunction as a result of the disease, underestimate the severity of symptoms, do not share them with healthcare personnel, and healthcare professionals focus mostly on physical symptoms, resulting in inadequate symptom management. Therefore, the presence of these symptoms should be questioned and directed appropriately during the disease and treatment process. The purpose of this review is to provide a literature review to describe and manage symptoms of anxiety, fatigue, and sexual dysfunction in patients with multiple myeloma.

Key words: Multiple myeloma, anxiety, fatigue, sexual dysfunction
