The field of contraception has had notable advancements, encompassing both conventional approaches like hormonal contraceptives and barrier methods, as well as state-of-the-art breakthroughs like long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) and new non-hormonal alternatives. There has been a significant increase in the focus on tailored ways of contraception, which incorporate individual preferences and health factors. Prominent aspects encompass the growing accessibility of non-prescription contraceptives, heightened recognition of fertility awareness-based approaches, and the continuous investigation into male contraceptive alternatives. Notwithstanding the progress made, there are still persistent difficulties that need to be addressed, such as the need to tackle discrepancies in access to contraceptives and to overcome cultural obstacles.
